With more than three decades of experience in museums, public history, and cultural institutions, Liz Garibay has held curatorial and leadership positions at the Field Museum, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Peabody Museum at Harvard University, and the Chicago History Museum. Today, she brings that depth of experience directly to museums and cultural organizations as a speaker, consultant, writer, and collaborator.

Liz’s expertise spans exhibition and interpretive development, public programming, audience engagement, institutional partnerships, and strategic growth. Throughout her career, she has built programs that expand audiences, generate new revenue, and create meaningful connections between institutions and the communities they serve. Known for approaching familiar subjects from unexpected perspectives, she helps organizations transform complex ideas and ambitious concepts into compelling, accessible experiences.

Her work and expertise have been recognized by organizations including Harvard University, the Research Board of New York City, the Field Museum, the U.S. Travel Association, the James Beard Foundation, and the City of Chicago. She was a featured speaker at the 2019 Chicago Humanities Festival, and her research and lectures have been featured in The Huffington Post, the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Toronto Star, and The Scotsman.
